An Evening Under the Vines: Hosting the Youth Garden Project's Harvest Fundraiser Dinner

Youth Garden Project Harvest Dinner

On August 8, we had the honor of opening our doors — and our vineyard rows — to the Moab Youth Garden Project for their Harvest Fundraiser Dinner, the first of two special "Garden Dinners" the organization is hosting this year. As the sun dropped behind the red rock and the sky turned gold, guests gathered at a long communal table for an evening of good food, good company, and a good cause.

Growing Kids, Food, and Community Since 1996

‍The Youth Garden Project has been a cornerstone of Moab since 1996, when it began as a single program offering local youth a place to complete community service hours in a nurturing, hands-on environment. Today, YGP has grown into a 1.5-acre working garden and orchard just off Main Street, home to more than 70 garden rows, dozens of fruit trees, chickens, fish, and a small army of young gardeners.‍ ‍

YGP's mission is simple but powerful: cultivate healthy children, families, and community by connecting people with their food from seed to table. Through educational programming, a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program, the Moab Community Gardens initiative, and events like the Farmers Market and Pumpkin Chuckin', YGP gives kids the chance to learn where their food comes from — and gives the whole Moab community a reason to get their hands in the dirt together.‍ ‍

Every dollar raised through events like our Harvest Fundraiser Dinner goes directly back into these youth and community programs.‍ ‍

A Dinner Grown From the Ground Up‍ ‍

For this first Garden Dinner of the season, YGP partnered with Chef Nick Sherinian to create a multi-course, seed-to-table dining experience set against our vineyard as the backdrop. We set a long table on the patio, dressed it simply in white linen, and let the vines, the desert light, and the evening air do the rest of the decorating.‍ ‍

As guests took their seats, the golden hour settled over the La Sal Mountains in the distance, and the conversation flowed as easily as the wine. It's exactly the kind of evening we love hosting. One where good food and a great cause bring neighbors together around a single table.‍ ‍

Why It Matters to Us‍ ‍

Moab is our home, and events like this are a reminder of why we love being part of this community. Supporting an organization that teaches local kids how to grow their own food, care for the land, and build healthier habits is an easy yes for us. It lines up with everything we believe about what it means to grow something well, whether that's a row of tomatoes or a row of grapevines.‍ ‍

We were honored to provide the setting for such a meaningful night, and we're already looking forward to YGP's second Garden Dinner on October 10, this time on-site at the Youth Garden itself.‍ ‍

Thank you to everyone who joined us, to Chef Nick Sherinian for an unforgettable meal, and to the entire Youth Garden Project team for the work you do all year round. Here's to growing kids, food, and community together.
