Friday Night Live Music in Moab: Wine, Red Rocks & Local Artists at Moab Winery
Jack Hanley
Looking for something to do in Moab on a Friday night? Skip the crowded bars and noisy restaurants. Most Friday evenings from 5–7 PM, Moab Winery hosts live music on the patio — a laid-back, gorgeous way to end your adventure day with a glass of estate-grown wine and world-class desert scenery.
Whether you've spent the day hiking in Arches National Park, mountain biking the Slickrock Trail, or floating down the Colorado River, there's no better way to wind down than with live music and a sunset over the red rock canyon walls of Spanish Valley.
Meet our recent artists
Brian Laidlaw & The Family Trade
Folk / Americana / Chamber FolkIf you've never heard Brian Laidlaw perform, prepare to be surprised. Brian Laidlaw & The Family Trade is a folk and Americana ensemble rooted in poetic songwriting, Appalachian harmonies, and chamber-folk arrangements that feel equally at home around a campfire or on a concert stage. Laidlaw — a Stanford-educated poet and songwriter who now calls Moab home — brings MFA-level lyricism to music that's instantly accessible, heartfelt, and alive.
Reviewers have described their live shows as feeling "as intimate as a bonfire circle," and when you hear them perform at sunset against the canyon walls of Spanish Valley, that description couldn't be more fitting. Their sound marries the warmth of classic folk with the intellectual depth of literary poetry — the kind of music you'll be humming for days.
Brian has served on the songwriting faculty at McNally Smith College of Music, and has credits as a songwriting consultant on multiple Grammy Award-winning albums. Seeing him perform at a winery in the Utah desert is one of those only-in-Moab experiences.
Jack Hanley Jazz Quartet
JazzThe Jack Hanley Jazz Quartet brings sophisticated, swinging jazz to the Moab Winery patio — a combination that works far better than you might expect. There's something magical about smooth jazz drifting across vineyard rows as the Moab sky turns shades of amber and rose. Whether you're a jazz aficionado or someone who just knows they like the way it sounds, this is an evening worth planning your trip around.
The Jack Hanley Jazz Quartet has become a beloved part of Moab's live music scene, regularly performing at the winery and delighting guests who come looking for great wine and leave with a new favorite band.
Chris Ross
Singer-SongwriterChris Ross is a singer-songwriter whose performances at Moab Winery have become a fan favorite among our Friday night regulars. His intimate, acoustic style is the perfect companion to an evening glass of wine — the kind of music that makes you feel like you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
Thoughtful lyrics, memorable melodies, and a genuine connection with the audience make Chris Ross one of those performers you stumble upon at a winery on a Friday night and end up following for years.
Why Friday Nights at Moab Winery Are a Must-Do in Moab
Here's why this is one of the best things to do in Moab — and one of the most underrated:
Unbeatable setting. Our vineyard sits in Spanish Valley, with panoramic views of the red rock cliffs and the La Sal Mountains. The sunsets here are, genuinely, magnificent.
Estate wines you can only get here. We grow and bottle everything on-site — our Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cherry Wine are exclusive to Moab Winery.
Local, live talent. Most Fridays we feature musicians who are part of the Moab community — artists who love this landscape as much as you do.
No cover charge to enjoy the music during winery hours.
The only winery in Moab. There's simply nowhere else like this in the area.
